Have you wondered what all the fuss about home battery systems is? If you already have a solar PV system, some of you will already be aware of how much you are exporting to the grid.
With a battery, you can be confident that any excess generation which isn’t consumed by immediate demand in your home will go into your own battery to be used when you need it. When your battery is full and there is no demand in your home, only then will electricity go back to the grid.
In summer, many of our customers with regular consumption habits (i.e. not a hot tub, heat pump or an electric car) consume only their own solar electricity and pay only the standing charge from April through to September.
From October to March as daylight savings shifts our clock to reflect less sunlight hours, our customers often switch their batteries to auto-grid charge overnight on one of the many overnight tariffs. This helps them meet the next days’ electrical demands at often a quarter of the cost – it’s smart home economics!
If you are considering a battery system and you are based in Swansea, Carmarthen, Neath Port Talbot, Bridgend, Brecon or Cardiff please get in touch and we will be happy to answer any questions you may have and if suitable we will provide an estimate or arrange a site survey.
